Joint Base Operations Support Contractor (JBOSC/NASA) has experienced a 40% reduction in their TCIR rate from 2002 (4.29) to 2006 (2.58). Furthermore, they have seen their DART rate drop from 1.51 in 2002 to .99 in 2006 (ytd), a reduction of 35%. Additionally, JBOSC’s most recent Worker’s Compensation Experience Rating received from NCII (National Council on Compensation Insurance) was .64 (a factor higher than 1.00 means premiums will be higher than that of the average company in the same category; for example a factor of .90 means a company would have earned a 10% credit on their base premium.) This shows a direct w/c savings of 36%. “According to the report our expected loses were $589,801 based on our codes and rates and our actual losses were $311,826, which is $277,945 less than expected. A Mod Factor as low as ours is rare. The main driver for the Mod factor is lost time cases, which is why it is so important to control injuries that lead to Lost Time.
